This is a group of active and concerned local residents who are fighting to preserve the natural environment, character and services in the Dronfield and Dronfield Woodhouse area against the threat of excessive and ill-considered development.

The group first began to form in the summer of 2025 in response to the North East Derbyshire Local Plan consultation - where large amounts of land were being put forward for potential development. North East Derbyshire District Council did not push back against algorithm-generated housing targets that suggest the population of the district would increase by over 25% when there is no basis for this in the governments own projected population figures.

As the consultation has progressed, this unwarranted housing target resulted in the need to bring forward huge numbers of sites to meet this target. The greenbelt land north of Dronfield Woodhouse was added as part of this consideration despite major limiting factors and environmental concerns expressed by local residents.

Now there is a developer putting forward plans for 250+ homes on that site, with limited access, 1000s of extra daily car journeys, no scope for additional local services and massive impact on the local environment and wildlife.
